Amelia Kaplan is the co-owner of Cosmos Sports and has been in the sports industry for over 20 years.
She began her career in sports with the Edmonton Oilers American Hockey League (AHL) farm club, the Cape Breton Oilers. She then relocated with the team to Hamilton in 1996, when they became the Hamilton Bulldogs.
In 2003, Amelia left the Bulldogs to co-found Cosmos Sports with her husband Cary, where she is the Vice President. As Vice President, Amelia manages all the financial aspects of the company in addition to working with Cary on overseeing all components of the business.
Prior to working in the sports industry, Amelia’s previous work experience included her tenure at the accounting firm, Peat Marwick Thorn and at Cape Breton University (CBU). Amelia completed her graduate studies at Cape Breton University.
