Sam graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Political Science Degree. After graduating from Laurier, Sam decided to change career paths and attend George Brown College for their Sport and Event Marketing program.

Sam’s passion for sports business drew him to marketing. While he is new to the industry, Sam has been involved in sports his whole life and has always been interested in the behind the scenes that happens before the competition.

While at Laurier, Sam played on the varsity football team for four years. In his second year, the team went on to win the Yates Cup in an improbable come from behind victory against Western. Sam has stated that playing football at Laurier was so important for him because it not only taught him leadership and teamwork skills, but it also helped him develop outstanding time management through balancing school and athletics.

While working as an intern at Cosmos, Sam helped the marketing team by designing graphics, producing The Rookies Podcast, and creating strategies for social media. Sam also worked on the sponsorship team by designing presentation decks to procure sponsorship.

Sam returned to Cosmos in March 2022 as Marketing Coordinator and stepped into a similar role with both the marketing and sponsorship teams.

In 2023, Sam expanded his role as Marketing Manager, leading multiple accounts in 2023 including Rugby Canada, Nanaimo Clippers, Toronto Rush, Milton Youth Soccer, 2Pong, Cycling Canada, and RFL.

Sam has also focused on developing Cosmos’ own brand. In November 2023, Sam and the marketing team unveiled a new Cosmos logo to go along with a redesigned website.
